i stuck to what i said i'd do last week and started aerial yesterday! i completed the head and body in my first sitting. i'd like to finish the rest this weekend, but pikmin 3 is out as of today, so no promises, hehe. if i don't get to this weekend, i'll do it over the course of the next week. :nodnod:
i streamed to discord while i built it, and i'm glad i didn't try to start it alone because i had the inclination to clip out all the pieces first, lol. i watched a potan video on youtube where he did that (and washed them in some sort of fancy bath too...), but i'm not at that level of gunpla nerd yet. luckily my friend said they just clip out the pieces as they go, so that's what i did. it's very satisfying hearing the little thunk as the clippers separate the plastic bits. 
in this process i learned that my general clumsiness puts me at a small disadvantage since i can't hold the dang pieces well!! i kept dropping them or having bits just go flying out of my hands because gravity hates me. 
at least 4 times i had to bend down and search the carpet under my desk for a piece!
overall though i enjoyed it and can't wait to attach the arms and legs. i love the runner with the clear blue plastic bits that will be used for the beam sword and blaster. i'll be sure to take pics again!
